Steve Nieve alerted me to the imminent closing of this club, so I thought I would pass this information along to you. We couldn’t save The Bottom Line, but remember Tonic got a second lease on life before it eventually shut its doors, so hey, let’s help save the Sweetwater.
Tucked away in the heart of Mill Valley, the Sweetwater music club has been the premier live music location in the North Bay. Sadly, after more than 30 years, the club that became a Marin County cultural institution, has been told to close by the end of the month. If you have ever witnessed a show at the Sweetwater or are a musician that has been blessed enough to get to play there then you know that allowing this piece of Bay Area history to close is a complete travesty. As a music community are we going to allow this to happen?
Here’s how you can help:
• Sign the Petition to Save the Sweetwater
• Email the City of Mill Valley’s Mayor
• Send a letter to Maria Aversa (the building owner)
• Help find alternate location in Mill Valley
