The Polaris Music Prize long list has been announced, and for the most part, I think it looks pretty good. Personally, I would say not including Jason Collet‘s record, Kevin Drew‘s BSS record, and Octoberman‘s Run From Safety, are all big oversights, but off the top of my head I can’t think of anything else that strikes me as a glaring omission (come back to me in a few days though, and I may have a different opinion). I don’t know, Bill what else is missing?
The Long List consists of the top 40 full-length Canadian records released from June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008, selected by the 185 members of the Polaris Music Prize jury.
The Polaris Jury will now vote from the Long List to determine the 10 album Short List, which will be revealed July 7 at the Drake Hotel in Toronto.
