T.I. and Franz Ferdinand at xXx (10/11/08)

At the tail end of T.I.’s set, Franz Ferdinand took the stage for a “live mash-up” of T.I.’s current number one single, “Live Your Life”. Then, just before Franz Ferdinand were about to launch into their own material, it looked like the whole party was gonna get shut down by the fire marshall due to overcrowding on the V.I.P. balconies. After about five minutes of thumb twiddling on stage and repeated pleas by Alex Kapranos for people to get down, the crowd began to spill out on to the floor and the show began. Like Bill said a few days ago, those original Franz Ferdinand hits like “This Fire”, “Take Me Out”, and “Jacqueline” never get old, while the new songs seem to have gotten old as of this writing. Despite my snap judgement, I will give the boys from Glasgow another chance when their new album, (which is tentatively titled Tonight), drops in January 2009, maybe it’s a grower.
Many more Franz Ferdinand pictures after the jump.
