As I highlighted a couple of days ago Patrick Krief and his new band Black Diamond Bay are in town this week for a series of shows. What I didn’t really point out at the time is that fellow Canadians HILOTRONS and The High Dials share the headlining duties on this little NYC barnstorming tour. As you may recall, HILOTRONS most recent record, Happymatic was long listed for the 2008 Polaris Music Prize (and was picked by 4 bumpershine jurors for the short list). While Montreal’s The High Dials, on the other hand, just released Moon Country on October 14, 2008, which will, come June of next year, indeed be eligible for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize. Your last chance to see these three bands together is Saturday night (November 8) at Pianos.
