As much as I dislike Live Nation, I guess I’m not ideologically opposed to them selling live concert videos on iTunes. Right now the selection is pretty weak though, we’ll see if it picks up in a couple of months though like they say it will. (Note to anyone out there in the Bowery Presents organization— you should really be doing something like this.)
Apple iTunes on Tuesday [Nov 24] began featuring downloads of live concerts by about 20 artists who are promoted by Live Nation.
iTunes will have a section featuring the concerts of singers and bands ranging from Jesse McCartney to Ziggy Marley, when the service begins, the companies said in a statement. They expect hundreds of more shows in the coming months. Prices will start at about $7.99. [Reuters]
rVibe, Bowery Presents, and CMJ have been teaming up over the last few months to start bringing this service to you. Check out the recorded version of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros live from Bowery Ballroom 11/17 and look for more concerts to come in 2010.
