Blackoutsabbath
Hey folks, in case you didn’t notice it in my most recent On Sales and Presales Post, tickets for Rufus Wainwright’s 3rd Annual Blackoutsabbath event are on sale now. The event is being held on March 14, 2009 at the Park Avenue Armory and will feature an intimate performance by Rufus and Martha Wainwright (and no special guests). According to Rufus though, this show is only a warm up for the main BOS event which will take place on June 19, 2010 (the official Blackoutsabbath day), “when we can all switch everything off and enjoy a day for a day, no power, only time of which there is always so little.”
It’s time for BlackoutSabbath‘s 3rd Annual Awareness concert. This year, the concert will feature Rufus performing the entire Berlioz song cycle, “Les Nuits d’été” (Summer Nights) with piano accompanist for the first time ever. Martha Wainwright will also be performing. It will be a matinee event on March 14th at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. [RufusWainwright.com]
Rufus Wainwright’s new album, All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu, will be released on March 23 in Canada, April 5 in the UK and April 20 in the US. (And because the Internet does not exist, Americans will have to wait until then to hear it.)
