Friends at The FADER Fort at SXSW 2012

Manifest!, the debut LP from Brooklyn’s Friends comes out today (June 5) on Fat Possum Records.
The album was produced by the band – singer Samantha Urbani, multi-instrumentalists Lesley Hann, Matthew Molnar, and Nikki Shapiro, and drummer Oliver Duncan. They recorded its twelve tracks between last summer and this spring with engineer Daniel Schlett at Strange Weather studios in Brooklyn.
Manifest! aims both to live up to and to defy the promise of those first singles – “Friend Crush” and “I’m His Girl” – over the course of a thirty-eight minute long player. “ A new track, “Mind Control,” mixed by Grammy winner Paul Epworth, made its worldwide debut this week, as the “Hottest Record in the World” on the UK’s premiere primetime radio show, BBC Radio One’s Zane Lowe. The (hard to Google) Friends hit the road next week for a short tour in support of Manifest!, they’ll finish up at the Bowery Ballroom on July 7 (Buy Tickets).
